Our Mission
Our nation's Wounded Warriors face challenges every day; emotionally, physically, financially, and more. Their family members and caretakers face constant stress too. Vacations for Warriors is committed to providing an opportunity for our heroes and their families to enjoy a brief respite from the challenges of their daily lives by offering them a vacation experience of a lifetime and an opportunity to reconnect.
The Vacations
Since 2014, Vacations for Warriors has sent Wounded Warriors on "once in a lifetime" dream vacations to a variety of destinations such as Hawaii, Disney, cruises, and the Caribbean. Travel, lodging, activities, and even spending money are included; our Warriors pay nothing. On their vacations, Veterans and their families have participated in a variety of activities which build confidence in their abilities, including skydiving, zip lining, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, riding ATVs, and surfing. Warriors and their families get the pleasure of simply enjoying each other, reconnecting, and recharging.

About Us
Robert DeMonbrun founded Vacations for Warriors in February 2014, guided by his deep commitment to honoring and supporting U.S. Military Veterans. A Vietnam-era Army Veteran himself, Robert has long dedicated his life to meeting the needs of service members and their families.
His path of service began at Greenwood Community Church’s Military Ministry, where he organized Christmas care package drives for deployed troops. When the Commanding General at Fort Carson requested additional help, Robert expanded his efforts—coordinating shipments of school supplies and clothing for U.S. soldiers to distribute to Afghan children. These initiatives not only boosted morale among deployed troops but also helped strengthen bonds with the communities they served. Over the years, Robert has continued to actively support local outreach programs, always driven by the belief that small acts of kindness create lasting impact.
Inspired to do even more, Robert launched Vacations for Warriors to give Wounded Veterans and their families the gift of meaningful travel experiences. After enduring months or even years of surgeries, treatments, and rehabilitation, many Veterans long for the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones outside of hospital walls. Robert believes that vacations provide more than rest—they offer healing, renewal, and cherished memories that strengthen family bonds and help Veterans embrace life beyond their injuries.
Robert and his wife, Sharon, make their home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. They are proud parents of three married children and grandparents to six grandchildren. Their son, Michael, is currently serving in the Colorado Air National Guard. Professionally, Robert has built a distinguished career in investment banking, specializing in financing manufacturing plants and nonprofit organizations nationwide. He currently serves as Managing Director at Municipal Capital Markets Group, Inc., based in Colorado.
Originally from Riverside, California, Robert carries with him both the values of service and the vision that every Veteran deserves the chance to rest, heal, and enjoy life to the fullest.
